Photo montage of places in South Carolina

The Short Story … I'm a proud history geek and I like taking photos.

I've been visiting historical sites my whole life. My mom loves history, and our family vacations usually involved visiting some famous place in American history. I've never been to Disney World, but I have been to Charleston, St. Augustine, Colonial Williamsburg, Washington, D.C. and Vicksburg, MS.

My mother once told me that she likes history because it tells people's stories. I think that is why I like history so much because I like telling stories. That is one of the reasons why I was a journalism major in college. In fact, when I was little, I wrote stories about a time-traveling journalist that reported on events in American history.

In 2005, I moved to South Carolina. I knew about the state's history with the Civil War, but never realized how many battles of the American Revolution took place there. Once I started visiting these sites, I developed a passion for learning more about Colonial America. I also love taking photos. I often take a ton of photos when I go on one of my "history trips."

I'm hoping this website will not only allow me to combine my two hobbies, but also help people to go discover these cool historical sites.
